And just like that, NZ is back into lockdown. With WFH being the norm for the past 12 months, there was little to do this time around. With heavy investment in the WFH and cloud space, users played “go home, stay home” and drifted into remote working without batting an eyelid. Office 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, web based apps like SharePoint Online, Word and Outlook meant that as long as you had a browser (don’t use IE people) you had access to your work. Collegaues were just a teams message or call away. Speaking of Teams, for the WDHB we have had migrated our PSTN calling to Teams a year ago. Users now have their phone follow them to whatever browser they can access. So for me, this has been the norm since 2020, nothing has changed. The only difference between this week and last week is that the kids are home….which isnt much different from the school holidays really.
